British Columbia, Canada [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Hawkeye Energy Corporation has announced that BC Hydro has officially accepted the company as a proponent for its 2008 Clean Power Call (CPC).
The company is now in line for a possible electricity purchase agreement (EPA) from BC Hydro for Phase 1 of its construction plans. Hawkeye’s plans call for the construction of twelve run-of-river hydroelectric projects totaling 180 megawatts (MW) and for the construction of a 150-kilometer transmission line associated with the projects.
Hawkeye is currently preparing documentation in anticipation of filing its official Proposal Submission to BC Hydro before the filing deadline on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. The twelve projects could have the capacity to meet the annual needs of approximately 68,000 homes and offset approximately 540,000 tons of carbon-dioxide emissions per year.
