Hamburg, Germany [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] REpower Systems AG has received an order for the delivery of 100 wind turbines from enXco, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles. The turbines will be used for two planned projects in Washington State. The agreement was signed last week at WINDPOWER 2008 in Houston, Texas.
The delivery of equipment is set to begin in the second quarter of 2009. Completion of the projects is scheduled for the end of 2009. The rotor blades for the turbines will be produced in North America. REpower has already cooperated with enXco for several US wind farm projects in California and Washington.
“I am particularly pleased to announce these two projects during the Windpower 2008. The trade fair turns out to be very beneficial for REpower and the new orders once more emphasise that the U.S. market becomes more and more important to us,” said Per Hornung Pedersen, CEO of REpower Systems AG.
