Utrecht, Holland [RenewableEnergyWorld.com] Evelop, part of Econcern, has named Vestas Offshore A/S as its preferred supplier for the 330-megawatt (MW) offshore Belwind project in Belgium.
Once completed, the wind farm will consist of 110 units of the Vestas V90 3-MW turbine, which will be installed in two phases on Bligh Bank in the North Sea. It will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 terawatt-hours. and involves an investment of more than €850 million [US $1.27 billion].
“Based on our cooperation on the Q7-project we are confident that we can extend our good business relationship with Vestas as preferred supplier for our next offshore projects,” said Jaap Roos, director of Evelop International.
