Delaware [Cape Gazette] Two sustainable energy bills are moving forward in the Senate in an attempt to bring more renewable power to Delaware’s power mix. The Senate Energy and Transit Committee convened Wednesday, May 2, in Dover to discuss creating a sustainable energy utility to promote residential use of renewable energy and how to increase the use of renewable energy statewide. Sen. Harris McDowell, D-Wilmington, said the committee is looking into sustainable energy because electric bills are so high and families are hurting. … McDowell’s committee has released Senate Bill 19, which requires power suppliers to increase their use of renewable energy sources. … Senate Bill 18 would create a sustainable-energy utility in Delaware.
