First Solar’s Modules Slated for Germany

Hamburg, Germany [] Nastro-Umwelttechnik GmbH, a subsidiary to Reinecke + Pohl Sun Energy AG, started building a large rooftop photovoltaic (PV) system using First Solar thin film modules on a depot in Ramstein, Germany. The project volume is at more than Euro 9.5 Million [US$13 million]. For the construction of the system approximately 38,500 modules are installed on a rooftop area of 90,000 square meters. After completion, which is scheduled for August 2007, the plant will generate an estimated electrical power of 2.4 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year.
