Hydrogen Solar Wins Funding for Research

Surrey, UK [] To research photoactive thin-film iron oxide nanoparticles for hydrogen production in tandem cells, Hydrogen Solar Ltd. has been awarded a research grant that will be used in the company’s solar technology. The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) awarded GBP 70,000 [US$136,000] to build on recent work by Hydrogen Solar on photoactive iron oxides showing a sunlight-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency of 2.1% and a theoretical maximum of 20%. The 18-month program aims to raise this efficiency at both test sample level and within scaled units. Hydrogen Solar will retain exclusive rights arising from the work.
