China Wants Biggest Solar Plant

[RedHerring.com] In the latest sign that solar projects are growing larger, China announced plans Tuesday to build the world’s largest solar power plant in Dunhuang, a city in the northwestern Gansu province. The plant, which will take five years to build, will yield 100 megawatts of peak capacity and will cost an estimated 6.03 billion yuan (about $766 million), according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.
