Research Triangle Park, North Carolina [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] For its provision of metallization materials used in the construction of silicon photovoltaic cells in a five-year collaboration, DuPont Microcircuit Materials (MCM), part of DuPont Electronic Technologies, received the Q-Cells Supplier Award from Q-Cells AG, a European manufacturer of mono- and multicrystalline silicon solar cells. DuPont’s thick film metallization pastes in the Solamet range include aluminium pastes to secure ohmic contact with the backside (p-side) and the silver, or silver/aluminium pastes, which are soldered to the interconnect ribbon. These, in turn, electrically connect the cells together, in a series or in parallel.
