Vermont Agrees to Allocate $500,000 for Solar Projects

[The Vermont Times Argus] The state agreed on Tuesday how to spend the first dollop of renewable energy money received from the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant. About $500,000 of the roughly $1.3 million will be spent to encourage small-scale solar projects, primarily put up by homeowners or farms. Although there remains some money in state funds to encourage homeowners and others to develop small-scale wind projects the installation of solar projects has been on hold until more funding was approved, said Andrew Perchlik of Renewable Energy Vermont, which advocates for the use of such technologies.
