Brandon, Manitoba, and Redwood Falls, Minnesota [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] A 20-year contract for Home Farms Technologies USA Inc. to supply thermal energy (steam) to Farmers Union Industries LLC for its rendering and biodiesel facility at Central Bi-Products near Redwood Falls, Minnesota, will use municipal solid waste as a source of thermal energy, enabling Farmers Union Industries LLC to reduce its consumption of fossil fuels and significantly reduce energy operating costs. The $35 million project involves the installation of Material Recovery Facilities at Redwood Falls and the Twin Cities and the installation of gasification equipment and boilers at Central Bi-Products. The Power Station would accept corn stover as feedstock fuel for future energy requirements.
