New Haven, Connecticut [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] How existing international law will affect and is affecting renewable energy markets was the focus of an Experts’ Roundtable convened by The Renewable Energy and International Law (REIL) held last month at Yale University. The goal of the roundtable then explored what needs to be done on the legislative plane (nationally, regionally, internationally) to enable the growth of these markets. High-level international experts in energy policy and law as well as business leaders attended the roundtable, which was followed by a series of short presentations and discussions moderated by James Cameron (Climate Change Capital and REEEP treasurer) and Martijn Wilder (Global Clean Energy and Climate Change Practice, Baker & McKenzie). A follow-up and report are forthcoming on the roundtable, which was sponsored by the Yale-REIL-REEEP Roundtable on Renewable Energy & International Law.
