Bethesda, Maryland [RenewableEnergyAccess.com] American Capital Strategies Ltd. will invest $85 million in ASAlliances Biofuels LLC, an entity developed by Americas Strategic Alliances LLC, to construct three large-scale ethanol production facilities. Post close, American Capital will own approximately 41%. Each of ASAlliances Biofuels’ three ethanol facilities is expected to produce 100 million gallons of fuel-grade ethanol per year. The three facilities, to be built adjacent to existing Cargill grain elevators, will be located in Albion, Nebraska; Linden, Indiana; and Bloomingburg, Ohio. Each plant will be designed and constructed by Fagen; Cargill will provide corn and natural gas procurement services as well as marketing and transportation. United BioEnergy will provide operation and maintenance management services for each plant.
