Earn a Degree to Implement Renewable Energy

A new onsite graduate program from the New College of California in the Bay Area is offering an accredited Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Sustainable Enterprise. Dubbed the “Green MBA,” its curriculum comprises basic business fundamentals that provide essential general business skills, courses that focus on sustainability and entrepreneurship, and a core leadership series.

“Finally, an MBA program that equips its participants to go out and start model business ventures that create meaningful jobs while restoring the Earth. There are so many business opportunities inherent in the challenges we face, and New College is unique in offering this kind of education at so pivotal a time,” said Nina Simons, Co-Producer, Bioneers, and Executive Director, Collective Heritage Institute. Every effort is made to integrate sustainability principles into course content and/or the projects and assignments. The faculty and staff continually incorporate the latest developments, with credit units adapted to keep up with the most relevant, up-to-date curriculum possible. An important component of the curriculum is the annual Bioneers Conference (link below). This conference focuses on practical solutions for restoring the Earth — and its people, incorporating a network of innovators who are working with nature to heal nature. The New College of California’s MBA is a full-time, two-year, four-semester program that promotes financial viability, ecological sustainability and social justice. It uses a project-oriented learning approach to integrate entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial skills with critical thinking and leadership capacities. The college is building a community of teachers and learners woven into a supportive network of business, academic and activist leaders, all in keeping with its general mission (even its site claims to be powered by renewable energy).
