Voters Reject Proposed Livermore Solar Community

[AP Via Union Tribune] A developer’s attempt to build what it claimed would be the country’s largest solar-powered community on currently protected land was rejected by voters Tuesday. With 86 percent of precincts reporting, Measure D lost 72 percent to 28 percent. The measure sought to expand Livermore’s urban growth boundary to include more than two square miles of ranchland and give approval to Los Angeles-based Pardee Homes to construct 2,450 solar-powered homes on 450 acres of that land.
