Renewable Energy Brought to Alaska’s Legislators

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Alaska has access laws to allow for tree clearing when someone puts up a solar array or collector, but the state doesn’t have much more when it comes to renewable energy legislation. Representative Jay Ramras (R-Fairbanks) introduced House Concurrent Resolution 3 today, which supports the research and development of renewable energy sources. HCR 3 recognizes that the research conducted by the Energy Policy Task Force provided the state with valuable tools and information and Ramras said the state needs to move forward to fully understand future energy needs and seek viable solutions. The resolution highlights renewable energy as a key component of long-term, cost effective sources of energy for Alaskan communities and as a strong potential source of economic development.
