Wind Energy Deal for Italian Utility

[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Energy provider Endesa has contracted with wind energy developer Gamesa to purchase wind farms in Italy with a total installed capacity of 200 MW, and at an estimated cost of EURO 250 million (US $323 million). The agreement will provide up to 60 percent of green certificates that Endesa is required to supply to the energy market. Overall, the company has a total installed capacity of 2,123 MW in cogeneration and renewable energy plants. For Gamesa, the operation forms part of the group’s strategy for the development and sale of wind farms, and fits in with its plan to maintain and reinforce its position of leadership in the field of wind energy in Spain and abroad.
