[RenewableEnergyAccess.com] Houston-based merchant bank Yellowstone Capital announced the formation of Yellowstone Energy Ventures (YEV), a venture fund focused on investments in renewable energy and alternative energy technology opportunities. Energy areas for investment include clean coal related technologies, wind power, energy storage devices, distributed power generation equipment, alternative transportation fuel, fuel cell technology and hydrogen production, storage and infrastructure, and solar power. Chairman of Yellowstone Capital Omar A. Sawaf cited the shrinking economic gap between the cost of fossil fuel technologies and renewable energy technologies as the reason for establishing YEV.
