[RE-Access.com] The Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF) celebrated the delivery of the 10,000th carload of ethanol moved by the railway’s Ethanol Express unit train service from the Midwest to California. The BNSF Ethanol Express began fuel deliveries in October of 2003, and more than 100 trains have run since that time. The program is designed to save ethanol producers’ time and money through increased fleet utilization, lower inventory carrying costs and logistics coordination. It also offers support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. BNSF has approximately 32,500 route miles, and covers 28 states and two Canadian provinces. The railway moves grain, transports the components of many every day products, and hauls low-sulfur coal across the nation as well.
