Maryland Solar, Renewables Laws on the Move

February 19, 2004 [] In a major show of support, the majority of the Maryland Senate’s members have signed up to co sponsor a bill that would renew the current Maryland tax credit at its current levels (15 percent — US$1000 for solar water heating, $2000 for PV) for another ten years, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). A renewable portfolio standard (RPS) is also moving in Maryland, but it does not include solar set-aside language such as in place in Arizona, Nevada and New Jersey and which is seriously being considered in several other states, including New York.
