Report Helps Boost New York Renewables

February 10, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] The ongoing New York Renewables Portfolio Standard rulemaking reached yet another milestone this week, as the New York Independent System operator released a report stating that the integration of the amounts of intermittent renewable resources contemplated under the NYRPS proceeding would not have a significant impact on the operation, reliability, or expense of New York’s power grid. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), this essentially nullifies one of the RPS opponents’ most influential arguments, and moves the proceeding one step closer to a positive outcome.
