January, 16, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] SPS Energy Solutions, a Victoria, British Columbia-based renewable energy company specializing in system design and integration, recently took ownership of the Modular Autonomous Photovoltaic Power Supply (MAPPS) business from RWE Schott Solar (RSS), formerly Schott Applied Power Corp. (SAPC). SPS Energy said the small, off-grid market served by the MAPPS systems matches the company’s corporate strengths and business plans. MAPPS are complete, prepackaged solar power systems for applications such as telecommunications, SCADA, remote security systems, RTUs, remote lighting and navigational aids. Each system is shipped complete and ready to install. RSS recently changed its market strategy to target the on-grid PV market. Scott Williams and Doug Broach, both formerly of RSS, recently joined SPS Energy to continue to service and support industrial interests in the US, which includes the use of MAPPS Systems.
