Global Resource Options Gains BP Distributorship

Little over a month from finishing a major solar electric installation at the prestigious Harvard University in Massachusetts, Global Resource Options (GRO) has been appointed a BP Solar Distributorship.

White River Junction, Vermont – January 13, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] BP Solar has selected GRO to become their first “Integrated Distributor.” GRO will be a single-line BP Solar Distributor for photovoltaic (PV) modules, as well as retaining their commercial and residential direct reseller and installation business. This combination of services provides advantages to BP Solar and to all of GRO’s customers. “The knowledge of the market and the technology that we have gained from selling direct to customers allows us to best assist other dealers,” said Dori Wolfe, President of GRO. “Our focus is to work with local dealers wherever possible, while also providing full installation service for projects outside dealer areas.” According to Jeff Wolfe, VP of Marketing and Engineering, “GRO will offer a much wider range of services than typical distributors. Having been in the trenches, we know what makes an installer’s life easier. GRO will offer pre-packaged systems, high level lead generation, sales training and assistance, and on-site installation training and assistance where desired.” The appointment as BP Solar Distributor follows GRO’s recent relocation to their new office and warehouse facility. Located at a major interstate highway crossroads in White River Junction, Vermont, the new facility provides GRO with the capability to warehouse and reship all products quickly and efficiently. GRO will be focusing on the east coast market, an area strategically underserved by major photovoltaic distribution. Jeff Wolfe indicated that, “…by putting the majority of our effort into the market in the east, we will provide exceptional service, fast delivery, and value to both longstanding dealers and those just entering the market.” GRO was recently responsible for the design and installation of Harvard University’s first solar PV system on campus grounds. The 36.5 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) array, comprised of 192 solar panels, was installed on the Harvard Business School’s (HBS) Shad Hall on their campus in Boston.
