January 7, 2004 [SolarAccess.com] Fedders Corporation and WFI Industries announced a partnership to build geothermal water source heat pumps in China. Fedders will produce the units in China for sale by WFI Industries in China and Korea under the WaterFurnace brand. Despite that fact, WFI’s CEO, Bruce Ritchey, said arrangement would not send local manufacturing jobs to China, but would rather add geothermal pump manufacturing to China. Ritchey added this would be the first time the company embarked on an aggressive global sales campaign.
