November 13, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] PowerLight Corporation, known for their frequent and often record-breaking large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, has appointed Howard Wenger as Executive Vice President to help drive corporate development and strategic initiatives. Wenger had most recently served as Vice President, North American Business, for ailing solar company AstroPower. During his time at AstroPower, Wenger was responsible for developing market and product strategies, forming key channel alliances, securing R&D funding, and managing the company’s commercial activities in North America. Prior to joining AstroPower, Wenger co-founded Pacific Energy Group, a renewable energy consulting firm that developed a new framework and software tools for analyzing the customer-value of solar power generation. Wenger also worked for Pacific Gas & Electric Company, where he focused on the technical and economic valuation of renewable and distributed energy resources within electric utility grids.
