Subsidies slow energy bill in Congress

Congressional talks on an energy bill have bogged down amid disputes over subsidies for ethanol and biodiesel, fuel additives made from corn and soybeans. Sen. Charles Grassley, an Iowa Republican and a leading negotiator on the bill, is insisting the legislation create a temporary new tax break for biodiesel production and alter an existing tax incentive for ethanol.
