Wind Power Donation Rocks Music Festival

August 12, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] Canada’s Edmonton Folk Music Festival, which just wrapped up this past weekend, was supported entirely by wind power this year thanks to a donation from Enmax Corporation. The company ensured that an amount of power equivalent to what the Edmonton festival uses for its operations was produced from wind-generated electricity. The power, about 20,500 kW hours, is equivalent to reducing 20,500 kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. This has the same positive impact as not driving a car for almost 90,000 kilometers or the CO2 reduced annually by 2,250 fully-grown trees.
