August 7, 2003[SolarAccess.com] In Carbondale Colorado on August 11, Solar Energy International (SEI) will sponsor a workshop on designing a fully functional micro-hydro system. The workshop will focus on teaching site evaluation, including instruction on how to measure head and flow. The participants will perform preliminary system sizing for mechanical and electrical power generation of 50 watt to 100 kW capabilities. Field exercises and tours of operational systems will be offered. Other topics include troubleshooting, system components, turbine types, site analysis, AC and DC systems, and hybrid systems.
