Ener1 Produces Thin Film Solid State Battery

June 24, 2003Ener1, Inc. has produced and tested a new prototype for high-energy, high-efficiency, thin film-solid state lithium batteries, which will have primary and secondary battery applications. Ener1 used proprietary Vapor High Density Vacuum Condensation/Solidification (VHDVCS) process to produce the electrode for the new battery. The company believes that its VHDVCS process has numerous advantages, including more efficient evaporation (up to 100 microns per second), less film thickness variation, fewer surface defects, development and production of fuel cells and solar cells.
