New Connecticut Company Enters RE Marketplace

With Earth Day 2003 marking its official business launch, Solstice Energy has entered the growing marketplace for new, clean electricity products from generators of Renewable Energy or green power. Based in Madison, Connecticut, Solstice Energy will help businesses and institutions in Connecticut and throughout New England purchase Renewable Energy products that offset pollution from older, dirtier power plants and help create a cleaner, healthier environment.

Madison, Connecticut – April 23, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] “The theme of Earth Day 2003 is ‘actions for a healthier environment’ – I can’t think of a more appropriate occasion to start a business that gives large electricity users the ability to choose a cleaner environment and healthier future,” said Jeff Keeler, president of Solstice. Solstice offers Renewable Energy products for businesses and institutions that want to purchase all or a percentage of their electricity from renewable power sources such as wind, solar, landfill gas, biomass, geothermal or low-impact hydro. Most importantly, Solstice customers can receive the benefits of clean, Renewable Energy without switching service from their existing electricity supplier or utility. Brian Keane, executive director of non-profit Renewable Energy advocate SmartPower Connecticut congratulated Solstice on its launch. “SmartPower Connecticut is tremendously excited to have Solstice launching here in Connecticut,” said Keane. “On this Earth Day – perhaps more than any other – the Connecticut green power market needs companies such as Solstice to help us create clean air, healthy communities and energy independence. SmartPower Connecticut stands ready and able to work closely with Solstice in order to help create a robust green power market right here in Connecticut.”
