The Florida Solar Energy Center will offer two courses on April 22 and 23 for builders, realtors and utility company representatives on energy efficient homes and green pricing programs.Cocoa, Florida – April 8, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] “Solar Energy + Energy Efficient = Zero Energy Homes” is a program for builders and realtors on emerging national trends in green energy design and construction techniques. The course will feature presentations on such topics as incorporating energy efficiency and solar technologies into homes, marketing new home features, carving out niche markets and marketing environmental sensitivity. The half-day course is offered on April 22 from noon to 5 p.m. and again on April 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Florida Energy Office, Florida Solar Energy Research and Education Foundation and the Florida Solar Energy Center. “Selling Green Power Successfully” explores the development of green pricing programs, explaining why green power should be offered to utility customers, what’s selling and what isn’t, and how to overcome barriers in creating a successful program. The half-day course is offered on April 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on April 23 from noon to 5 p.m. It is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Florida Energy Office, Florida Municipal Electric Association and the Florida Solar Energy Center.
