RE Trust Fund Tapped

March 7, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] The Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust has been officially tapped by Republican Gov. Mitt Romney to help close the state’s budget deficit. Romney approved withdrawing US$17 million from the US$160 million fund this week, but said he would mandate the state buy at least US$10 million worth of Renewable Energy each year, a move he said would effectively offset the funding transfer.
