Sharp Electronics Corporation, the U.S. sales and marketing subsidiary of Sharp Corporation, Osaka, Japan, returns to the International Builders Show in 2003 to showcase a range of one-of-a-kind products in the home entertainment, appliance and solar energy categories featuring proprietary technologies and unique styling for design and environment conscious consumers.

Las Vegas, Nevada – January 22, 2003 [SolarAccess.com] The exhibit highlights many of the ways Sharp helps people create new lifestyles through distinctive products and technologies. Sharp’s world leadership position in both Liquid Crystal Display television and solar energy will be showcased. Sharp has more residential solar energy systems in operation throughout the world than any other manufacturer, according to the company. In response to growing interest in clean, Renewable Energy in this country, Sharp began marketing its solar products in the U.S. last year. Sharp’s one-of-a-kind product mandate extends to its solar business. The appearance of solar modules on the roof is a key concern for homeowners. Sharp solar modules are available in selected colors and triangular shapes in addition to the standard square and rectangular modules to better complement roof shapes and the surrounding environment. In addition, Sharp is the only company to offer modules that assume the appearance of a skylight. For commercial builders, Sharp will offer a solar electric glazing product designed for use in curtain walls and atriums. This unique product allows 30 percent of the light hitting the module to filter through the glass while producing clean, electric power. It’s ideal for use in areas where natural lighting is needed to enhance a work environment. In the coming months, Sharp will introduce a complete residential, grid-connected system with solar modules, electronics, connectors and support structures. An LCD display panel will enable the homeowner to monitor energy performance and environmental savings. Sharp will manufacture all of the components. The system is unique by allowing consumers to rely on one company for their solar energy needs.
