November 12, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] One of Southern California Edison’s 275 electric vehicles has logged 100,000 miles, the farthest any plug-in EV anywhere has traveled in real-world driving applications. SCE and Toyota Motor Sales, tracked the performance and reliability of five Toyota RAV-4 EVs until they each reached the 100,000-mile mark using their original nickel-metal-hydride battery packs. The fleet has collectively logged nearly 8.5 million miles.
