September 26, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] AstroPower, Inc received the coveted R&D 100 award from R&D magazine, for their eight-inch Apex solar cell. The cell is the largest, most powerful solar cell available, manufactured via the company’s proprietary, high-speed, continuous-sheet Silicon-Film process. The award recognizes inventions that are significant gains over previous technologies and have the potential to improve the quality of life of large numbers of people. This is the third R&D 100 award AstroPower has received.
