Financial Firms Take Note of Renewable Energy at Washington, DC Conference

Indicating that Renewable Energy is gaining respect in the financial world, a number of investment firms plan to participate in the organizing meeting of the newly established American Council for Renewable Energy (ACRE) in Washington, D.C. on July 10th and 11th.

Washington, DC – July 8, 2002 [SolarAccess.com] Representatives from as many as 20 investment firms, including Credit Suisse First Boston, GE Capital and Merrill Lynch will be attending the event, looking for information and new opportunities in the Renewable Energy. “Through ACRE, the renewable energy companies will have greater access to the financial community,” said Greg Kats, Principal with Capital-E and a member of ACRE’s Steering Committee. “ACRE’s organizing conference will be an excellent opportunity for companies to meet with these senior financiers from venture capital, corporate finance, project finance, asset-based finance, investment banking, and fund management.” “ACRE’s mission is to help bring renewable energy into the mainstream of our country’s economy and lifestyle,” said Michael Eckhart, acting Chairman of ACRE. “A key first step is engaging the financial community, as financing is a key part of the renewable energy equation. We’re pleased to see such interest from professional investors and lenders, and welcome their involvement in the American renewable energy industry.” ACRE’s organizing conference is being held July 10-11, 2002 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.
