The non-profit Center for Resource Solutions has received an award of US$6 million dollar from the California Energy Commission to support a variety of renewable energy research activities for municipal utilities in the state.SAN FRANCISCO, California, US, 2001-11-02 [SolarAccess.com] The Public Power Renewable Energy Action Team has already established a collaboration of municipal utilities interested in exploring new ways to bring renewable energy into their power portfolios. New staff members have been hired to take the lead in helping public power agencies deliver renewables. The new employees include Ray Dracker of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as research director of Public Power Renewable Energy Initiatives. Another new member of the team is Fraser Smith as manager of Public Power Renewable Energy Initiatives, who will develop the activities of the Initiative and manage the CEC-funded program. CRS is based in San Francisco’s Presidio and is responsible for administering the green-E certification program in the U.S.
