Natural Power opens new office in Newcastle, UK, providing full lifecycle ecological services

Leading international renewable energy consultancy group Natural Power has opened a new office in Horsley, near Newcastle, supporting Clients with a full range of ecological wind farm services. The new office will help build on Natural Power's respected marine ecology services, with improved benthic ecology offerings, as well as increasing their offshore and onshore survey teams. In addition, Natural Power's Newcastle office will provide a base for staff working on offshore sites such as Blyth Demonstrator and Humber Gateway.

Masdar of Abu Dhabi procures two ZephIR 300 wind lidars to support renewable energy development in the UAE

Masdar Power and Masdar Institute of Science and Technology have each chosen industry leading ZephIR technology to provide wind measurements in challenging desert conditions in Abu Dhabi. The two ZephIR 300 systems will be used to produce high resolution wind resource maps for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) while assisting a number of partner developing countries in the assessment of their wind energy resources.

Natural Power to provide Commercial Back Office Support Service on Hall Wind Farm for RidgeWind

Leading international renewable energy consultancy group Natural Power has been appointed to provide Commercial Back Office Support Services on Hall Wind Farm for renewable energy development company RidgeWind. The service will see Natural Power delivering financial and commercial administration services during the construction phase of the wind farm, which is due to begin on 16th January 2012. Hall Wind Farm is located approximately 5.5km north of Beverley and 14km west of Hornsea and is set to comprise of 12 x 2.05MW turbines with a maximum installed capacity of 24.6MW.

Natural Power awarded technical consulting contract on 230MW E.ON offshore wind farm, Humber Gateway

Leading international renewable energy consultancy group Natural Power has been awarded a contract to carry out an energy yield assessment and site classification study for the permitted 230MW Humber Gateway offshore wind farm project in the UK by international energy utility E.ON. The Round 2 wind farm, located 8km off the Holderness coast, East Riding of Yorkshire, is set to comprise 73 turbines. As part of the assessment, data from an on-site 90m tall mast will be used in combination with data from a meso-scale wind climate model and reference data to deliver a finance grade energy yield and uncertainty prediction.

Turkey's leading wind energy consultancy, re-consult, part of the Natural Power group, has been awarded a positive decision to its application for accreditation as a Designated Operational Entity (DOE) for the international carbon market by the Executive Board of the United Nation's Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). re-consult is the first Turkish company to act as an accredited DOE and is one out of only 53 accredited DOEs world-wide. The accreditation covers 'Scope 1', also known as "thermal and renewable energy sources".

SeaRoc success on marine tenders leads to expansion across Natural Power's Offshore team
