Skyline Solar Developing Hydbrid CSP-PV Technology
Skyline Solar CEO Bob MacDonald talks to RenewableEnergyWorld.com's Stephen Lacey about the company's unique parabolic trough/photovoltaic technology and how it might be applied in the field.
(I'm not affiliated with Skyline, so hopefully this plug won't be misconstrued).
This is a low-concentration CPV system although described as hybrid CSP-PV. I'm sure there's a reason for that, perhaps having to do with unfamiliarity of the public with concentrating solar.
Hopefully by now, most people who subscribe to REW.com realize there are distinct solar energy solutions for roof-top versus ground-based applications. Tracking systems such as Skyline's are usually deployed on the ground while flat panel systems can go on rooftops.
