Andrew Wilkins

BIO: Andrew Wilkins, Sales Manager - Commercial and Government

Andrew Wilkins received a Bachelor of Science in physics with a minor in management from McGill University in 1997. He spent nine years in the telecommunications and electronics industries while developing skills and experience in procurement, business development and sales. Andrew has been employed in the renewable energy industry since early 2006 and is a NABCEP Certified PV Technical Sales Professional. In is currently employed by Matrix Energy Inc., one of Canada’s leading wholesale distributors of Solar Photovoltaic and Wind Energy products / systems. Originally hired to increase sales with OEM and Government clients, Andrew has since taken on added responsibility in managing US Dealers and Commercial accounts under the Ontario Power Authority’s FIT Program. In cooperation with Matrix engineering and installation partners, he has developed numerous Solar Photovoltaic projects including for the City of Toronto, City of Montreal, Alouette Homes, various real estate firms and the Government of Quebec, amongst others. Born and raised in Montreal and fluently bilingual, Andrew’s renewable energy training includes completion of Introduction to Photovoltaics from the Quebec Alternative Energy School (EEAQ), and Commercial Photovoltaic Systems Design from SMA Solar Academy. He has given a number of presentations on renewable energy, including to Construction Specifications Canada, the Bell Center, HOK Architects, SNC Lavalin, the Ontario Electrical League (OEL), Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario (ECAO), Ontario Solar Network, PM Expo and various architectural and engineering firms.
