BIO: Thomas Garven Retired Licensed and Registered Professional Engineer and Certified Quality Engineer by the American Society for Quality. Also Journeyman Tool and Die Maker and 6 year member of the IBEW. Four years service in U.S. Navy aboard guided missile cruiser as Interior Communication Electrician. About 10 years in Aerospace including Apollo program, L1011 passenger jet and Safeguards Anti-Ballistic Missile System. About 6 years implementing quality program requirements for U.S. Navy nuclear submarine reactor plants and 15 commercial nuclear plants in United States. Twenty years at a two unit Pressurized Water Reactor facility doing everything from initial construction, thru full power operation. One heck of a career and one of those jobs where you just can't wait to get to work in the morning. Traveled to and evaluated generation facilities, nuclear component manufacturers, wrote sections of the Final Safety Analysis Report for a nuclear facility and spent the last 5 years of my career training other engineers how to work safely in the nuclear environment. And of course did some consulting after active employment. Accepted a golden parachute retirement plan in 1996. Recent Activity
