GE's Rise as a Major Solar Investor
So...what companies should a small investor look into...not having the financial analysis equipt personnel that GE has....what's a good way to analyze the coming winners above and beyond a 'basic financial analysis trend' for someone who wants to invest in PV and Bipv companies?

Thanks.

Abound Solar Halts Thin-film Production
Larry above is "head-on"...we should have mandates for reducing the outputs needed first...have incentives for companies to change over...antequated lighting structures...change over to lighting that mimicks natural light...it saves energy...the employees will appreciate it...the management 'bean counters' will certainly appreciate the cost savings too....then go to PV, wind, etc.

Why not tackle the load first...then cut that overhead by moving into sustainables?

SunPower Sues SolarCity, Former Employees Over Data Theft
Wow....it shows that business accounts are getting larger and much more lucrative now. Business is maturing everywhere in the US.

Love to interview to sell for SolarCity in the upstate NY area...with 'millions' in sales for residential and small business...."how do I sign up to sell for SolarCity"??!

US Company Sending Wind Energy Parts To China
Absolutely funny,..."Mr Anonymous" (above) has hit the nail on the head. Even while I was reading the article,...I was thinking exactly the same thing.

$20 million,...that's a drop in the bucket to study our advanced technologies. Literally an investment in R&D for them.

We need incentives to get men/women to study manufacturing again, in order to get our country back on it's collective feet. We have too many PhD's that can't "chew bubble gum and drive a car at the same time". We have more PhD's now than McDonald's has burgers.

Now,..even many PhD's are out of work. Why? Because there are not "hard working average jobs" for people with honest labor skills to fuel the Macro economy.

We need brains,...but the bicep and quadricep built this country. Most of us learned all we needed to know by the end of the 10th grade to handle 90% of all jobs that we see around us.

World's Largest Wind Project is Underway
How are we going to keep up with our maintenance issues on such large projects if only 2500 technicians exist now in the US with AAS degrees in
wind power maintenance? Would it be better to extract more power from "free standing CSP" than from highly complex wind power?

Companies produce close to the same power density per unit of land, and (10) technians can maintain a 100 acre field, with multi-megawatt capability, not to mention the non-issues of overhead infrastructure.

Solar power should begin to become standard items for homes built in every state; utilizing hot water installs first (most efficient), and then considering PV for voltage later. 58-60% of a homes energy generation is used to produce hot water!

Innovation and Politics in this Hot, Flat and Crowded World
Alex,...don't copy Ms. Saunders statements; come up with yur own stuff dude.

Anyway arugula is too bitter for the Americal palate. If we fed our critters better food lots, we wouldn't have nearly as much methane either.

Turning Waste Olive Stones Into Bioethanol
Ms Saunders mentioned above quite corrently:

"Animals fed with mash are so healthy that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms often visits the farmers whose animals win prizes at county fairs, a reason some of the best animals may not show up at county fairs any more."

Perhaps if we fed our animals highly nutrient dense mash around the globe before slotter, we would have a lower incidense of heart attacks and strokes around the world; especially in the US. "You are what you eat, not what you don't eat." Indisputable logic.

Oh well,...we're just complacent Americans, we don't care about anything but our couches and our T.V's. probably because our food stocks provide so little nutrient density unless we pay ten times more for our meals at health food stores; or spend half a life time studying nutrition. Here's to long shelf live and dead food! Yeeeaaah!

Where are my potatoe chips?!

Acciona Invests US $479M in US Wind Market
The more the better, even with transient lower oil prices, we have warming to contend with, and dependance on oil. If American's start to buy more SUV's again,....we deserve to become a second class country; we're very greedy and short minded in this country.

We lead the world in heart failure with the largest per capita income; means we're lazy. We use 24-25% of the world's flowing oil reserves and make up 3.9% of the worlds population; means we don't care about our carbon footprint

We have the least educated people coming out of our own schools: means our system is broken.

People in this country for the first time ever,...are not finding good paying jobs with or without an education for the most part; unless they are family or know someone that they have something on; pitiful.

In 25 years we'll be running to cross into the Mexican border to find jobs. Any half healthy Mexican under 80 years old can outwork any America high school kid 9 out of 10 times; fact- you know it and I know it. How do you want to hire? If both workers were invisible but work was being done,...who would you guess was the Migrant worker, and who would be the American paste eating, video game, lazy American teenager?

GE Invests US $100M in 2.5xl Wind Turbine
Unfortunatley GE can't find enough engineers or technicians to build what they already have slatted to build and then install.

A well rounded Liberal Arts & Science background in college should be enough to warrant entering ANY field in this country. After all,...scrub technicians in today's OR's are performing in brain and cardiac surgeries every day. Many of these people started out by working as aides. Don't tell me that GE can't test and then hire technicians to work in wind power. What a waste of talent.

Not everyone has a PhD. in engineering; these individuals don't do the actual installs anyway, nor would they have the slightest idea of how to do so.

Ohh well,..keep selling what can't be installed.

All the Best.

Massachusetts Enacts New Energy Bill Promoting Renewable Energy
4 of 4; your right, but we gotta start somewhere, and (2) MW's is more than enough for most .

Now that government sees that the nation is beyond "bandage" repair and we actually have a "loop of bowel dragging out of our collective abdomins with all accompanying serous fluid and blood drainage", we'll next take the step later; the step of gross metering. The Democrats will usher in many new laws and legislation, not because they're Democrats, but because they want to gain seats and can with this strategy.

After all, we wouldn't want to move with appropriate speed and decisiveness that our country demands,...would we? We're treating the "power movement" game like we have in our automobile industry. We don't retool for what the people want and need; just keep building Escalades, Hummers and Yukons- lose jobs, pay unpayable pensions, etc.

The next steps will be followed by NY, PA and all surrounding MA states, just like Delta following US AIR; just a game of money and pressure. Except that this is reverse pressure, pressure from the people to make things happen for the good, not to pay more money for less service.

Wouldn't it be smart to once,....just jump to the final goal and obviate all the tiny steps that we know we don't need to go through? Wouldn't it be nice if the collective states could ratify something efficient and economically worthy for all people together, instead of this nonsense of slow movement?
We all need to have PV, these units need to pay for themselves in less than five years; then money should be made.

People making $35-60k will typically not pay $40,000 for a net metering PV, unless for the most part, they're seeing dollar signs for investment strategy. Jobs pay nothing, jobs are stagnant and the middle class is at the fringe right now. Four years degrees are now almost worthless - one can earn ~$15-20 an hour after spending $100K on school. I suggest, most people don't even have that background in the US.

Pickens Unveils Plan To Revitalize the US with Wind Power
Bush didn't even blink or consider these ideas. Our "game" must be multi-tiered like Pickens says, especially since we purchase between 680-700 billion dollars worth of overseas oil yearly; YES YEARLY!

For (1.5) trillion (it won't be less), we could reestablish a high voltage DC grid with minimal attenuation power delivery characteristics, put in natural gas pumps all through North America and move towards getting rid of our foreign dependance. That's effectively (2) years of our current foreign oil outlay.

Now, capital start up costs are high, but we're spending money to train, build and keep the money in our own economy too! And,....we own the stuff after investment, with little capital costs reoccuring.

We don't need to see and hear about another "AyeToldya" spending 100 million to take lavish and personnel trips on new double-decker airline carriers do we?

Pickens' is thinking long term, obviously to make money too. Pickens' does nothing without a profit incentive,..lets' be real and the guy doesn't have many more years left. But all-in-all,..getting rid of our foreign dependance on oil is the goal, and natural gas vehicles could be "an investment bridge" that would bring the country together, while we build our electric infrastructure and move onto even better technologies for travel - namely electric vehicles. Electric everything is the only logical goal as attained by "various Sun, Wind, & Geo technologies".

Switching to NG for our rides could start the next "Manhattan Project" that we need to restrengthen America; cause' we're drowning literally dying now.

HInt: Don't buy any more SUV's people for "show and tell". Your now looking like fools,..not Yuppies.

Investing in Wind Companies
Smart ideas from smart people; wind can't lose. Has a huge spread too.

Now if Americans just had any freakin' money to invest,....they could jup on the bandwagon. But we don't.

Practical Tools To Speed Up the Transition Away from Petroleum
The only practical chance we have is to have our current and incoming politicians to readily admit that we cause most of the global warming now and that we must take new direction to change such BS.

Being "leaders of the free world" isn't gonna mean too much for too much longer if we don't concentrate on this one overriding concern.

Cars produce ~ 30% and buildings contribute another ~70% of our CO2's today. We have "all of the interfacing" technology to get the "Manhattan Project" started. "We can build lean and drive clean" (hey,...that was good).

We must not quibble about who did what, and treat this like now with all assumable haste and discipline as if we were being invaded by aliens; even beyond invading each other!

But, I'm just a guy working for $17 a hour after (5) years of college - what do I know?? Good thing I don't have kids, I'd be at the soup kitchen for sure.

My country is failing me, and it's worse for the non-educated people out there for sure all over America.

Our upcoming "Manhattan Project" will produce jobs, wealth, stability, hope, and economic choices yet unfathomable. Let's stop building Burger Kings and McDonald's franchises for the "already rich" and get moving on retooling Detroit and Coal burning plants for sustainables.

There is no such animal as a "clean coal plant",...period. Study, read, understand. Americans are not stupid, they're just trying to feed their' families with both parents working two jobs.

If your rich,....get richer and more powerful by buying into Green Franchises and investing in with Green Technology; you have a huge part to play by choice if not by morality. Study green technologies. Wind power and Geothermal investments are huge winners today.

I myself am trying to find technical work on a wind farm or with a large wind company. Can u help here?!

Anyone out there hiring for roving wind power technicians; contact:
