Leslie is a writer, editor, and industry initiatives officer for the Geothermal Energy Association and has published the organization's newsletter, Geothermal Energy Weekly, and newswire, GeoEnergyWire, since 2008. She served on the planning committee of the Renewable Energy World North America Conference and Expo Geothermal Track in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013; and the Sustainable Energy Coalition Expo on Capitol Hill 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. Previously she worked for the American Geophysical Union. She studied literary arts and interdisciplinary journalism at Brigham Young University Hawai'i, where she worked at the campus newspaper, Ke Alaka'i ("The Leader"). Some of her first articles about green action were there, on topics of Hawai'i's waste management issues and its renewable technologies. From 2005-6 she taught English and life coaching in Thailand and speaks fluent Thai. Her first "job" editing a newsletter was for her childhood church primary group at age 9.
