Having discovered that building demolition, construction and maintenance uses twice as much energy as transportation, I am promoting the use of super-insulation. Specifically the use of straw bales in building construction. At the 2007 Solar Decathlon in DC, U of Penn students said that straw bale insulation was 10 TIMES more cost effective than any other insulation analyzed.
