Jim Smith
BIO: Jim Smith, Broker/Owner As one of the top Realtors in Denver's west metro area (Golden/Jefferson County), I am also "leading the charge" for renewable energy and green building. I'm also on the board of directors of our local Realtor Association. My own home has an 8.2 kW PV system and a 100-gallon solar thermal system. My real estate office (which I own) has a 5.2 kW PV system on it. My wife and I both drive hybrids (Camry and Lexus). Committed to recycling, I accept white polystyrene (aka Styrofoam) at my real estate office and take truckloads at a time to a nearby polystyrene factory. Our company's "For Sale" signs are unique in that they contain two values statements, one of which is "Promoting and Modeling Environmental Responsibility." I write a weekly "Real Estate Today" column which appears every Thursday in the Jeffco editions of the Denver Post. Past columns are archived at www.JimSmithColumns.com. Occasionally, these columns have dealt with renewable energy. In recognition of our company's committed to sustainable practices and renewable energy, the City of Golden awarded Golden Real Estate its 2010 Sustainability Award (business). You'll find a link to our list of sustainable practices on our website, http://www.GoldenRealEstate.com. Recent Activity
