Massachusetts Sets Strict Regulations for Biomass: Will This Influence Further Restrictions?
My suggestions is a little ironic. Do not invest in the fores let them be destroyed, create nice beautiful land make roads and infrastructure and finally put nice houses with solar panels on the roofs and wind propeller in the back yard, use the trees left over as an ornament.

Brightsource Will Not Go Public After All
Why are you making things so complicated and fight each other?

The IPO was withdrawn because there would be many public discussions to judge the viability and profitability of the business, either side BS side and utility companies side.
Most probably the cost of the project to be implemented would be around $4000/kW of installed capacity even with high insolated region level.

The same project would be easily materialized at half price (we do here in our part of the world with little water consumption just to clean the panels (pv-thin film better)no emission, no CO2 and even with the possibility of making shade under the panels (you can cultivate-green energy)with the water used for cleaning the panels (no chemicals required-exception of the water softening).

Therefore those public discussions would harm the project and put the decision makers and public authorities in danger.

This is the only reason that IPO is withdrawn (adverse market conditions; pv is much less costly these days).

If somebody see any other reason please inform us all without fighting.

Thank you for your understanding if I am wrong.

Twin Creeks Unwraps New Tool, Process to Slash Silicon Solar PV Costs
DWagner and Olaf-de-swart

Please tell me where do you find 20% efficient panels (not the cells) and how much do they cost. Extra cost associated to install lower eff.panels and posses larger land should be well calculated and compared with the extra lower costs of good thin film panels of 12-15% eff. With the thinfilm you harness more energy comparing with c-pv (at least 5% in hot weather areas. If your calculations are based on only less tempered Northern areas you may be are right.

Twin Creeks Unwraps New Tool, Process to Slash Silicon Solar PV Costs
Why sticking on c-silicon in order to cut the prices for few 10 cents instead of going with thin film (which is also a kind of very thin silicon of few microns). Today 50 cents/watt cost is achievable. Please someone comment on what is the real advantage of c-silicon versus thin film apart from efficiency rates. Is space so important that much?

SunEdison Activates First Phase of 16-MW North Carolina Solar Farm
There must be something wrong. 4 MW installed capacity in NC can produce 6 million kwh of electricity per year; 120 million kwh over 20 years (less something for degrad.). 16 MW installed capacity (peak) can produce 460 m kwh (overall completed plant). Pls correct me if I am wrong.

How PV Manufacturers Are Driving Down Costs
Wesley,
If I am correct in understanding that 2 kw system with inverter and a switch costs about 22k for thin film panels (so high should be around 6-7 k) I would suggest to go with xtaline silicon panels which lasts more than 25 years and produce more electricity than thin film depending on the location.
Above article talks about falling panel prices which came down to less than a dollar per watt, ho is it possible to ask for 10 fold of the price. Any comment explaining this will be much appreciated.
