Asia Report: Solar Stocks Tumble After Tariff Ruling
Screw China. We can always get panels from Canada, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, the US, etc.
Screw China.

There's Something To Be Said for Having the Right Kind of Singular Focus
This reminds me of the story of the big rig truck getting stuck under a railway overpass. The "officials" talked about tearing up the cement on the overpass around the rig, or getting an even biggeer rig and forcing the truck through, and all these other ideas that would cause damage to the rig, the overpass, and close off the train tracks.
Then, a kid biking by suggests they just let some air out of the tires and drive the truck out.

The $6 Gasoline That Almost Was
Gee, a pro-ethanol study from Iowa, smack dab in the middle of the corn belt.

What a frickin' surprise. I wonder how much ADM paid for that study?

Hollande Victory Signals Shift in France's Renewable Energy Policy
I understand all the anxiety regarding France's future energy needs and whether nuclear will be included as part of the solution. Each form of energy generation has it's pluses and minuses.

My main question is: Will Hollande's wife get naked for the media, too?

Brightsource Will Not Go Public After All
Ahhh, the turd-monkey returneth.

Tell me, anonymous, if you are so worldly and wise, why do you hide your face? Such great wisdom and insight must certainly have a name to match. A person with the greatest of abilities to consistently knock down nascent and emerging technologies in blatant favor of the status quo MUST have a quality name behind him.

Tell us, turd-monkey, what IS your name? Petersen? Koch? Cheney?

Solar Supporter: Clinton to Give Keynote at SPI
Kerry - It's Clinton's support of RE for his being invited as speaker. Nothing to do with his presidency. Keep on track here, will ya?

A Lesson in Solar
Anonymous - What you are failing to recognize, turd-monkey, is that, despite all your hand-wringing over costs to build, may I remind you, this project was built as a research tool, not just for electricity generation.

Yes, yes, yes, it cost more to build than the 30-year agreement will feed back. So what? Are you factoring in the savings by the university into your total figure? Considering it's to supply almost 100% of their daily electrical needs? I don't see it. Even if you take the $6 Million left off the $40M payback from the 30-year agreement, that brings the related cost down to $1.20/Watt in 2012 dollars. Not bad, actually.

Oh, by the way, it is 2012 now, not 2007. Just thought I should point that out.

Let's not also forget, turd-monkey, that companies will be paying to have their panels tested as the project expands. Sure, more money to build, but more revenue down the line in the form of site fees, maintenance fees, more electricity feeding into the university and local grid, etc. It's call 'big picture' for a reason.

And what ITC? If you're considering the investment APS put into the project, I suggest you call them and see if they consider those 'public' funds. There isn't a utility around who will call the money sitting in their investment portfolios 'public' money. Go ahead, ask a shareholder. I dare you.

Finally, turd-monkey, what incoherent sentences? Find one. Unless the concept of 'clauses' is unfamiliar to you. And I think I only see one in there anyway. By the way, you have a fascinating over-use of dashes, colons, and brackets. Good lord, I haven't seen this much repression since Joseph Kony asked friends over 'for dinner.'

And as for the name calling, oh yes, most definitely. Because until you show your real face, anonymous, you will be, indefinitely, a turd-monkey.

A Lesson in Solar
Anonymous - What the hell are you babbling about? This is an excellent example of group testing in similar environments. It's like those panels used by paint companies to compare their products in an open environment setting. You get individual claims and cross-comparisons at the same time.

And what 'feeding at the public trough', you moron? Half the money came from a Morgan Stanley subsidiary and the rest from APS, which, like other utilities, obligates itself to finding new sources of energy production. And since APS (which itself has a history of supporting renewable energy), is owned by Pinnacle West, I'm sure their shareholders wouldn't jump into such a project unless they were assured of some kind of payback. NO PUBLIC MONEY WAS USED IN THIS PROJECT.

Finally, if you're not some blatant shill from Big Oil & Coal, you're obviously mentally inbred, as the fact you bring up Solyndra, when the Solyndra situation was nothing at all like this project. I won't bother going into the details, since it's apparent you didn't.

Take some time to check into a mental ward, anonymous, and stop wasting our time with your pathetic ramblings.

Bipartisan Group of Senators Propose New PTC Extension
The key to a lot of this legislation is running an end-game around the electric monopolies that are far too common in so many states. These monopolies have the money to line congressional pockets, keeping the status quo intact and their own pockets filled to the gills.
The only way around these yahoos is to go directly to your congressman and senator and tell them, straight in the eye, you will actively vote them out of office if they don't bend to the public's voice on decentralized solar power. Tell them you will actively support and organize for whomever runs against them in the next election and you will publicly deride them for supporting a corrupt status quo. And you will do it on THIS ONE ISSUE ONLY!
A politician will always run with the tide that keeps them office rather than the graft lining their pockets.

Renewable Energy PTC and 1603 Extensions Tacked Onto Senate Bill
The holy-roller Anonymous that posted above has been showing up on these boards recently. Not sure if he/she is trying to dove-tail the RE movement with some sort of religious revivalism, or is just another out-and-out batshit crazy whack job.

But his/her ramblings tend to turn into the kind of horse shit you see in that last paragraph.

Hey, Anonymous Jesus! Either ease up on the meds or drop them, but either way, keep your bullshit nonsense to yourself!
