Senate Proposal Could Hurt US Wind Industry
Why should we go deeper into debt for China to make a profit? The middle man gets richer too, shame on you at tax payer expense. We are killing our auto industry, our manufacturing industry by going low quality, high quantity while penalizing our industry with EPA laws, good laws. Lets be totally fair and US industry will win. Agree with most up there - Max 15 - 25% foreign produced with subsidity money. The idea is to develope OUR industry and jobs, not China's. Comply with "Buy American" LAWS!!!!! GE makes good turbines, they are US are fas as I know.

Utilities Hatch Ambitious Plans to Own and Operate Large-scale PV Projects
$ 5.00 per watt, fat chance. Will probably go to $ 8.00 per watt by the end of the program with a 100 year pay back! Let's just get real and forget PV as a source until the middle man, hoarders and waistful suppliers get out of the business. CSP seems the way to go for South West USA for solar. Don't feed the fat waistful cats with tax payer subsidized programs. Forget these folks. The best solutions is energy conservation and Nucs!

Good comments up there, just check payback

Vermont School District Shifts to Wood Pellets
Good idea. Seems like this approach has the vender on the hook for all of the investment and subsequent risk. The Navy has been looking at these systems for heating Golf Course buildings with wood collected from maintenance. We will review again and see ifthings are more favorable. 901-874-6608

Cleaning the Transmission Process
Solar power was a good idea in the 70's until investers and speculators pushed out most of the inventors and folks who knew what they are doing. To buy a solar pane now you have to pay back the inflated investment first before seeing the polysilicate.
Most comments are correct about impoving the grid. This was necessary even before Texas and California put up wind turbins. Call me innocent but I like seeing those birds making power and consuming no fuel. Bringing in the transmission lines should have always been part of any electrical system expansion.
Commment 9 is good however the wind turbins are mostly away from population centers. The Mid West systems being developed now may be different and more along his thinking. Solar concentraitors in the desert will casue even longer and heavier transmission lines. The algebra on the 3 billion VS the 60 billion transmission lines is loose. Many lines or paths have to be doubled or tripled up, plus step up and step down transformers. switches and interconnects. Like Senator Dirkson once said, " A billion here and A bilion there, after a while it all adds up to a pretty big number"!

"Anaconda" Could Provide up to 20 MW of Wave Energy
Neat to develope, hard to say how effective this Anaconda thing. I thought the "Electric EEL" was a better name. Good luck to the inventers.

ASU Creates Solar Power Laboratory
It's about time. Got sun out there, why not use it. It would be good to see break through in costs and effectiveness.
Let's 'get 'er going!"

Sen. Barack Obama Tours PV Powered Facility in Oregon
Enough inducements are already out there. Early predictions were that 10% of the corn crop would go to renewables, they actually got 25% with a number of farmers switching. Screwed up the Food Market. OOPS!

Get renewables self sufficient as soon as possible especially the sand bagging solar people. The Arabs keep testing the waters by dirving up oil prices, you thing we would not have to offer incentives. Check out Brazil man- switch grass especially on land that is not farmable by other crops.

Hey Exxon - you stink of market manipulation. You risk US ports being flooded with your crude with out giving back to the consumer & people who allow it. Shame on you.! !!!

New Wave-Pump Technology Hits the Water
Let's do it. I will be happy to follow up on some of these wave energy generators and and all. I am the energy conservation fellow for Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) part of the Navy. I am actively looking for alternative Energy, and will take some risks. We have 11 bases on the sea coast that we might use, three in the Gulf. Contact kevin.rawson@navy.mil. ICP Solar Technologies to Purchase Californian Solar Distributor
I hope this synergy nets more efficient systems with parallel DC lighting as primary or back up lighting to avoid inverter inefficiencies. This strategy would interest me as an energy conservation manager.
Sad to see another US company go foreign. Is that is statement of our lack of forsight, or great opportunity to make a cash in.
