Chicken Soup for the Hydropower Soul

Hi John - just off the top of my head, I'm not sure that I can think of a comprehensive database that includes all the information you're looking for. If you're looking for information on a specific plant though, you might try searching our website, HydroWorld.com. Other than that though, I think it might be difficult to find a definitive answer to any of your questions in terms of how the entire industry looks just because development varies so much by both country and and lender.

For instance, the trend in the U.S. seems to be moving very quickly toward small, privately-financed hydropower projects to be built on existing government-owned sites.

Meanwhile, many Asian countries appear to be more interested in large projects that would help satisfy energy deficits (particularly in India), and often, those are being financed by foreign investors.

And in Europe, the emphasis seems to be on developing hydrokinetic technologies, which is being funded by everyone from state governments to non-profit organizations.

So not sure if that's of any help or not, but if I can help you narrow an answer down further, let me know and I'll try to be of more assistance.
