Kris Davis
BIO: Kris Davis, Research Engineer Kristopher Davis has been a research engineer at the Florida Solar Energy Center for over three years, working in the area of photovoltaic (PV) cell fabrication, cell and module characterization, and system design. In the area of fabrication, Mr. Davis has worked to develop non-vacuum processing techniques to fabricate inexpensive solar cells from earth abundant inorganic semiconductors. Mr. Davis has also provided cell and module characterization services to a number of different organizations, including PV module manufacturers, nationally accredited qualification laboratories, DOE laboratories, NASA, and other third parties interested in understanding how these devices perform under varying environmental conditions. This work has included measurements of the electrical and optical properties of PV devices, quantum efficiency, and materials characterization, as well as module performance and reliability testing. Mr. Davis has also provided technical assistance to various organizations seeking to design and install PV systems, which has involved performing site surveys, feasibility studies, economic analysis, system inspections, and commissioning tests. Mr. Davis has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF) and is currently enrolled in the doctorate program at UCF's College of Optics and Photonics.
