Colin Poitras is a media relations associate at the University of Connecticut. Prior to coming to UConn, Colin spent 20 years as a reporter for the Hartford Courant during which time he covered child welfare and juvenile justice, the state legislature, town government, the judicial system, major crime and special investigations. Colin was part of a team of reporters that won a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting in 1999 in connection with the fatal shooting of four people at CT Lottery headquarters. As a member of UConn’s Communications team, Colin is primarily responsible for the schools of engineering, pharmacy and social work. He also covers key science areas such as chemistry, biology, materials science, and kinesiology.
